MHD Spring Academy
MHD is excited to announce that we will be offering a Spring Academy Program (in partnership with the Bow Valley Hockey Society). This program will have a primary focus on developing the players skill sets in an environment that challenges each participant, yet allows for optimal growth through a positive and fun learning environment. This camp will be lots of fun and its guaranteed to prepare our participants for the 2025-2026 Season.
The Spring Academy will work on the fundamentals; power skating, edge control, stick handling, over speed training, small area games, passing, battle/compete, shooting and scoring.
There is no goalie specific training provided in the Spring Academy.
Instructors
Each of our camps will be instructed by experienced instructors who have the knowledge, passion and abilities to effectively and efficiently teach your son or daughter. We guarantee a 1 to 6 ratio for instructors to participants, which ensures your son or daughter is receiving ample instruction and feedback throughout the course of the program.
Age Groups
The Academy will be offered to five age groups; U7, U9, U11, U13, and U15 Age Groups.
Players who played in Division 1 are encouraged to play up a Division. Please contract Trevor prior to registering - Trevor@morganhockey.com
Players should register in the Age Groups they will be playing in for the 2025-2026 Season.
Location
The 2025 Spring Academies will take place at the Seton YMCA and the Trico Leisure Centre. The schedules are outlined below by each age groups respective program.
Trico Leisure Centre located at 11150 Bonaventure Drive SE.
Seton YMCA location at 4995 Market Street SE, Calgary, AB.
Spring Academy Registration Fee
The cost of the Academy is $375 + Service Fees for players and $199 + Service Fees for Goalies.
The registration fees include:
- 10 Ice Times
- Water Bottle
- Practice Jersey
Please note that this is not a Learn to Skate Program.
Players must have at least one year experience playing on a House League and or Community Team prior to signing up for the Spring Academy.
Monday Evenings
U9 Spring Academy - Group A
Birth Years: 2018 and 2017 Birth Years
Dates: March 31 - June 2, 2025 (Monday Evenings).
Please note we skate on the Holiday Mondays - April 21, 2025 and May 19, 2025.
Ice Times: 6:15pm - 7:15pm
Location: Seton Arena A
This Program will be limited to 24 skaters and 2 goalies.
U11 Spring Academy - Group A
Birth Years: 2016 and 2015 Birth Years
Dates: March 31 - June 2, 2025 (Monday Evenings).
Please note we skate on the Holiday Mondays - April 21, 2025 and May 19, 2025.
Ice Times: 7:30pm - 8:30pm
Location: Seton Arena A
This Program will be limited to 24 skaters and 2 goalies.
Tuesday Evenings
U7 Spring Academy
Birth Years: 2020 and 2019 Birth Years
Dates: April 1 - June 3, 2025 (Tuesday Evenings).
Ice Times: 5:45pm - 6:45pm
Location: Seton Arena A
This program will be limited to 36 players
Wednesday Evenings
U11 Spring Academy - Group B
Birth Years: 2016 and 2015 Birth Years
Dates: April 2 - June 4, 2025 (Thursday Evenings).
Ice Times: 6:45pm - 7:45pm
Location: Trico Centre # 2
This Program will be limited to 24 skaters and 2 goalies.
U15 Spring Academy
Birth Years: 2012 and 2011 Birth Years
Dates: April 2 - June 4, 2025 (Thursday Evenings).
Ice Times: 8:00pm - 9:00pm
Location: Trico Centre # 2
This Program will be limited to 12 Forwards, 8 Defence and 2 Goalies.
Thursday Evenings
U9 Spring Academy - Group B
Birth Years: 2018 and 2017 Birth Years
Dates: April 3 - June 5, 2025 (Thursday Evenings).
Ice Times: 6:15pm - 7:15pm
Location: Seton Arena A
This Program will be limited to 24 skaters and 2 goalies.
U13 Spring Academy
Birth Years: 2014 and 2013 Birth Years
Dates: April 3 - June 5, 2025 (Thursday Evenings).
Ice Times: 7:45pm - 8:45pm.
Location: Seton Arena A
This program will be limited to 12 Forwards, 8 Defence and 2 Goalies.
